
Our President, Micah Sturgis, has conducted digital forensics for nearly 2 decades. He has formed and developed three forensic labs and programs. Micah was trained by the United States Secret Service at the National Computer Forensic Institute. Micah continues to receive training each year to keep up to date on all the latest forensic trends. Oliver Greene is a Digital Forensics Examiner with Sturgis Forensics. Oliver graduated from Western Carolina University in 2003 with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice. Oliver began his career with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office in 2004 where he spent 19 years Investigating Crimes as a Deputy and then Detective, being promoted to First Sergeant of the Criminal Investigations Division in 2019. In this role he over saw the day to day functions of the Criminal Investigations Division to include Detectives, Crime Scene Investigations, Property and Evidence, Sex Offender Registration, Internet Crimes Against Children and Crime Stoppers. While working at the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office in 2016, Oliver attended training and was certified by the National Institute for Truth Verification as a Computer Voice Stress Analyst and operated the Computer Voice Stress Analyzer for Criminal Investigations as well as Pre-employment. In 2019, Oliver obtained his Masters from East Carolina University in Criminal Justice with a Certificate in Criminal Justice Education and began his journey into the world of Digital Forensics and investigations involving Digital Forensics. Oliver obtained Professional certifications through various colleges to include Interview Recognition, Homicide Investigations, General Forensics and Digital Forensics compiling over 3000 training hours in those fields. In 2021 Oliver was transferred to the Special Investigations Unit where he worked undercover narcotics for the next 2 years. In 2023 Oliver accepted a job offer at the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office to operate and run their new Digital Forensics Lab as a Digital Forensics Detective. Oliver received training and certifications through Cellebrite for Cell Phone Forensics and was sponsored by the United States Secret Service to attend the National Computer Forensics Institute for Cell Phone, Computer Forensics and Cryptocurrency Investigations. As a Digital Forensics Detective, Oliver worked Internet Crimes Against Children cases and Cryptocurrency cases on top of processing cell phones and computers that came into the Digital Forensics Lab. In 2024, Oliver was promoted to Sergeant supervising the Digital Forensics, Crime Scene, ICAC Investigations, Property and Evidence and Sex Offender Registration.
Oliver has consulted and testified on cases with the FBI, United States Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security, local District Attorney’s and Criminal Defense Attorney’s on Digital Forensics as well as Crime Scene Investigations and other Felony and Misdemeanor cases.
